How To Get Saved
The Casual Observer Of Life And The Universe In Which We Live Will Perceive Our Limitations And Finiteness As Well As The Infiniteness Beyond Our Comprehension. There Is No Other Explanation For This Infiniteness Than The One True God. God Is Not Only Infinite And Everlasting, But Also Omnipotent, Omniscient, And Omnipresent. Better Still, This Awesome God In Which We Believe Is Also The Loving Creator Of All That We See. The Most Fascinating Part Of His Creation Is Mankind, Us, Which He Created In His Image (Genesis 1-2).
Just As Apparent As The Reality Of An Infinite And Almighty God Is A Wicked And Fallen Mankind. Although We Were Created In The Image Of God, Adam And Eve, The First Man And Woman, Willingly Sinned Against God By Defying His Order And Following The Advice Of Satan To Eat The Forbidden Fruit. The Punishment Of This Sin Is A Curse Upon The Earth And Ultimately Death. This Was Passed On To Us And We See The Miserable Nature Of Mankind Even Today As Evidenced By Such Things As Murder, Lies, Stealing, Cheating, Adultery, Homosexuality, Abortion, Slander, Abuse, And Drug Addictions. Because Of This Sin, Which We Are All Guilty Of, We All Fall Short Of The Glory Of God (Romans 3:23) And Are Condemned To Die And Spend Eternity In Hell. Eternal Death Is The Just Wages For Our Sinful Works Which We Commit (Romans 6:23).
But Even Though We Sinned Against The Holy And Perfect God, God Did Not Stop Loving Us. He Provided A Way For Us To Return To Him And To Be Forgiven Of Our Sin. This Way Is Jesus Christ, As It Is Written So Clearly In John 3:16, “For God So Loved The World That He Gave His Only Begotten Son, That Whoever Believes In Him Should Not Perish But Have Everlasting Life.” Jesus Came To This Sinful Earth And Died At The Hands Of A Sinful People And Rose Again From Death So That We Could Be Forgiven, Simply By Believing In Him. Even When We Sinned Against God, God Did Not Stop Loving Us (Romans 5:8).
So All Of This Explanation Begs The Simple Question, “How Can I Have Eternal Life?”. The Answer Is Summed Up In These Two Words, Grace And Faith. Grace Is A Gift. God Gave Us Grace By Sending His Son Jesus To Die On The Cross For Us. We Receive God’s Grace By Coming To The Cross In Faith, Which Is Another Word For Belief. We Receive Forgiveness Of Our Many Sins And Thus Eternal Life By Believing On Jesus Christ. This Whole Process Is Summed Up Rather Clearly In Ephesians 2:4-9 As Follows: “But God, Who Is Rich In Mercy, Because Of His Great Love With Which He Loved Us, Even When We Were Dead In Trespasses, Made Us Alive Together With Christ (By Grace You Have Been Saved), And Raised Us Up Together In The Heavenly Places In Christ Jesus, That In The Ages To Come He Might Show The Exceeding Riches Of His Grace In His Kindness Toward Us In Christ Jesus. For By Grace You Have Been Saved Through Faith, And That Not Of Yourselves; It Is The Gift Of God, Not Of Works, Lest Anyone Should Boast.”
