Genesis 2:18, 21-23 “And the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’ … And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.'”
Men and women are similar. Biologically, 45 out of 46 chromosomes are identical, as are the presence of the same human blood, bones, and flesh. And yet, men and women are oh-so different! Yes, we have the same blood, but the hormones in that blood have huge effects. Yes, we have the same bones, but the woman’s are so much more delicate. Yes, we have the same flesh, but the woman’s is filled out in different proportions.
At First Baptist Church, we recognize the similarities and differences between men and women and want to help women as they overcome their unique challenges in a sinful world.
As a woman, you may have challenges in your pregnancy or in your failure to get pregnant.
You may have troubles raising your own children or somebody else’s.
You may need direction as you take care of the daily household needs.
You may struggle, trying to make ends meet in a male-dominated economy like the Hulett area.
You may need assistance with groceries or a water bill from time to time.
You may need guidance as you seek to educate your children at home or at school.
You may have questions regarding your health and all those healthcare issues that are peculiar to us women.
You may hurt from an abusive past or hurting from an abusive relationship now.
You might be happily married in public but lonely or filled with anxiety deep down inside.
You might just need somebody to talk to and somebody to pray for you. You might just need somebody who knows what it is like to be a woman.
At First Baptist Church, you are not alone. We are here to help.
