Yes

Yes

If God gave you a gift and asked if you wanted it, the right answer would be “yes.”  If God gave you a baby and asked, “do you want a baby?” the right answer would be “yes.”

Every time a man and woman come together, as Adam and Eve did so many years ago, it is as though God is asking them a question, “do you want a baby?” It seems like so often in our culture today that men and women put this question to the side and pretend that they are ignorant of what eggs and sperm do.  It is not until the woman feels different and takes a pregnancy test that suddenly revelation hits and now comes the question asked by God so long ago, “do you want a baby?”  With hopes of taking control of the situation, with a purpose of conforming to the expectations of their friends and family, with a desire to improve the world in which they live, and with good intentions, the woman and the man then take God’s question and qualify it to make it more practical.  They might add to it like this…

“Do you want a baby even though we aren’t married?”

“Do you want a baby before we can afford that house?’

“Do you want a baby even if it is not a boy?”

“Do you want a baby with a defect?”

“Do you want a baby when we don’t have time as it is?”

“Do you want a baby with Down syndrome?”

“Do you want a baby this early in life?”

“Do you want a baby this late in life?”

“Do you want a baby while we are still in school?”

“Do you want a baby along with the medical bills?”

“Do you want a baby that we didn’t have plans for?”

“Do you want a baby when we aren’t ready?”

“Do you want a baby if your boyfriend will hate you?”

“Do you want a baby when we already have too many kids?”

“Do you want a baby if it means losing your job?”

“Do you want a baby that will cry all the time?”

Eve accepted Satan’s qualification of God’s word regarding the forbidden fruit in the garden and, of course, rejected God.  This was sin.  Many groups today, on behalf of Satan, are attempting to qualify God’s gift of life, specifically regarding unborn babies.  But no matter how many times you qualify the question above, “do you want a baby?” is always there.  When God gives us a gift, when God gives you a baby, the right answer is “Yes!”

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Psalm 139:13-14
