Two Simple Questions
Are you a cattle rancher? What does that mean? Perhaps it means you own some land. How much? Do you need to own 20 acres to support a cow-calf pair? Or do you need to own 200 or 2,000, or 20,000 acres? Or could it be that you rent some land for your cattle? But what if you don’t own any land or cattle but you work for somebody who does? Perhaps that makes you a rancher. Again, we ask the same question, how much? Do you work a weekend now and then moving cattle or do you work seven and a half days every week doing anything and everything necessary to keep the herd? Does it make you a rancher if your parents or grandparents are? Maybe, but I know of many who grew up on ranches who have no desire to be around cattle and of others who grew up on ranches who have every desire. And then comes the question, what about when you get old and tired and cannot go out and do even the simplest of chores anymore? Are you still a rancher? So, you see, this question, “are you a cattle rancher?” could be a really a loaded question. But it does not need to be. It is really a simple question with only two answers. Those who have a personal relationship with cattle will simply answer “yes.” These are the ones who dedicate their life and their life circumstances, whatever they may be, to the improvement of a cow, a calf, or a herd of cattle. Those who have no relationship with cattle will simply answer “no.”
Following this same thought process, we ask a similar question, “are you a Christian?” Again, we can ask a plethora of questions relating to how often you pray, how often you read your Bible, how and where and if you go to church, about your parents’ faith, whether you support missions, and about anything and everything else that you do or have done in life. But again, this does not need to be a loaded question. “Are you a Christian?” is really a simple question with only two answers. Those who have a relationship with Christ will simply answer “yes.” These are the ones who have been born again by faith in Jesus and dedicate their life and their life circumstances to the glory of the Almighty God. Those who have no relationship with Jesus will simply answer “no.”
Are you a cattle rancher? If “yes,” we want to take this day to thank you for a job well done. You will be reimbursed for all of your hard work and dedication in your years remaining here on this beautiful earth. If “no,” you have missed out on a wonderful lifestyle, but that is ok. God had something else in mind for you.
Are you a Christian? If “yes,” welcome to our fellowship where you can join us in our worship of the most high God. We will have our eternal reward in the presence of Jesus Christ and all His holy ones forever and ever. If “no,” that is not ok. Come to Jesus today for salvation and a relationship that lasts forever. God does not want you to spend eternity in Hell.
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory… Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world…’” Matthew 25:31, 34.
