“Out of the eater came something to eat, and out of the strong came something sweet.” Judges 14:12-18
The simple answer is in verse 18, “what is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion?” which of course refers to Samson’s encounter with a lion (14:5-9). What do you think of Samson? Is he a mighty hero of God or a selfish fool who squandered God’s power? I think of him as a political figure who accomplished God’s task (“begin to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines,” 13:5) but in his disobedience wreaked havoc on God’s people and ultimately on himself. In our walk with God we need to fulfill His grand commands, but we should not neglect our daily duty to be faithful in all things.
